Conrado J. Etchebarne (EF 1962)

Argentine Fellow to Receive Distinguished Alumnus Award

On May 17, Eisenhower Fellowships will bestow the Distinguished Alumnus Awardupon Dr. Conrado J. Etchebarne, ’62, Argentina. EF established the award in 2008 to recognize an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to his or her field of endeavor and proven leadership in the alumni network. The recipient’s post-fellowship activities must reflect President Eisenhower’s commitment to peace and productivity by working through direct personal contacts across boundaries.
After returning from his Eisenhower Fellowships travel, he was appointed by the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange to draft legislation on securities for Argentina. This legislation was adopted as the law of public offering of securities, which created the Securities and Exchange Commission that regulates the public offering of securities and stock exchanges in Argentina.

Of his Eisenhower Fellowship experience, Dr. Etchebarne has said, “I have embraced for the past 50 years the philosophy and values of EF. I have enjoyed being a member of the Eisenhower Fellowships, an organization that opens the door, as it did to me, to potential leaders all over the world. It is always a joy and a challenge to find a candidate to be an Eisenhower Fellow and to follow his or her achievements after the fellowship, both in a personal and professional level. It’s a unique experience for all of us who have the chance to be part of the EF family.”

Conrado Etchebarne is a Senior Partner of the law firm Cabanellas, Etchebarne, Kelly & Dell´Oro Maini, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of Eisenhower Fellowships.
